Idea For Game
This is an article on the creation of the www.bustit.app game. What follows is a discussion with the original creator of the game on how it all started:
Why did you come up with the idea of bustit?
About four years ago my grandchildren had a problem with their maths and had a lack of interest in it. So i created a game that would hopefully stimulate their interest in learning.
Why did you progress the idea?
My wife Maria worked at schools for over 20 years teaching difficult children. When she saw the game that I put together she asked me to do something with it so that it might help other children.
How did you take the paper game forward?
Over a period of time I got a company to produce it into an app last November where it was put together in a early format. But sadly my wife Maria was unable see the finished product. Because she died near the end of last year suddenly but with the help of two very clever gentlemen the app bustit has now gone online completely free for children at https://www.bustit.app
Looking to the future what do you want from Bust It?
The aim was always to help more children with enjoying maths. What we want is to be able get it in to their hands and know of its existence. So we'd love for schools, home educators and charities that focus on education to use it. So we will reach out to them.
We've listened to feedback, for instance now there is a daily challenge. We'd like to continue to get feedback on how we can improve the game. Depending on uptake there are ideas on how to expand the game to help with other aspects of maths.
But we hope its a fun game for everyone not just kids to enjoy and please share a link!
